On April 27th, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) officially announced the results of the 2014 evaluation of 22 National Intellectual Property (IP) Training Bases. National IP Training Base (Anhui) at USTC was ranked number one and awarded “Outstanding National Training Unit” by SIPO. This is the 4th consecutive year for Anhui Base to be rated as “outstanding units” since its foundation.
The National IP Training Base (Anhui) was co-established by SIPO, Anhui Intellectual Property Office and USTC in 2010. It focuses on training quality and effectiveness, and strengthens software and hardware condition construction for high quality training outcomes. Based on USTC experts’ academic research and discipline advantages of IP, Law and Public Administration, the Base has formed a distinctive IP series training courses and training programs, which obtain good social feedback. Teaching staff composed of domestic and overseas scholars, lawyers and patent agents emphasize on the combination of theoretical training and practical application. A typical training program is developed, which includes moving classes at leading enterprises. With years of continuous effort, the Base has developed a series of high-quality training programs such as programs for IP public administration and law-enforcement officials, for patent examination specialized personnel, for enterprises’ IP operation and management, and for university technology transfer. Many applied IP talents in Anhui province, especially from He-Wu-Beng Comprehensive reform pilot area for Indigenous Innovation, have participated in training at the Base as part of our region’s effort to promote an innovation-driven economy. Additionally, the Base sets up an international communication and cooperation platform for professionals from all over the world, constantly expanding the depth and breadth of international exchange and cooperation.
