On August 5th, 2022, the 15th National Social Practice and Science Competition on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction for College Students came to an end at Tianjin University. The 15 teams recommended by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) won one national first prize, three second prizes and five third prizes, which is the best result in the past five years. Prof. SHU Gequn, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, attended the closing ceremony and congratulated the winning students.

A total of 610 institutions of higher education have registered for this competition, and each institution can recommend no more than 15 works. Based on the results of the 8th USTC Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Innovation Competition, the USTC concentrated experts to guide the students' works. After that, the organizing committee of USTC would help these teams to attend the national competition. In the afternoon of August 3rd, 2022, our finalists in the national competition participated in an online defense. The participating students introduced the design background, application scenario and characteristic efficacy of their works in a detailed and fluent manner with high spirit.

The National Social Practice and Science Competition on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction for College Students is organized by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, with the theme of "Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, Green Energy", which is a national student competition with orientation, demonstration and mass appeal. Since 2015, USTC has held USTC Conservation and Emission Reduction Innovation Competition and recommended excellent works to the national competition. USTC has won 1 national grand prize, 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 42 third prizes. USTC has won the excellent organization award for seven consecutive years. We look forward to more success of our USTCers in future competitions.
