On the eve of the Spring Festival, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) hosted its annual "Writing Spring Couplets and Sending Blessings" event at the East Campus Auditorium. Organized by the Faculty Calligraphy and Painting Association under the USTC Labor Union, the event infused the campus with New Year cheer through traditional cultural activities, including writing Spring Festival couplets, presenting “Fu” character posters, and showcasing intricate paper-cutting art.

The auditorium was alive with the fragrance of ink and the spirit of celebration. Calligraphy enthusiasts penned couplets with auspicious messages such as "A soaring dragon marks great achievements, a rising snake heralds new journeys." Rows of beautifully written couplets and “Fu” posters adorned the venue, drawing in eager faculty and students who lined up to select their favorites. Meanwhile, a captivating paper-cutting display showcased artisans' skillfully crafting traditional symbols of good fortune.

This year’s event distributed over 500 Spring Festival couplets and 800 "Fu" posters, with an additional 50 couplets delivered to faculty members at the High-Tech Campus. In its fourth consecutive year, the "Writing Spring Couplets and Sending Blessings" event has become a signature initiative of the USTC Labor Union’s "Our Festivals" program.
